MHRA Grants Licence for New UK-Manufactured CBD Medicine
The MHRA has granted its first marketing authorisation for a CBD medicine manufactured entirely in the UK, produced by Celadon Pharmaceuticals at its Hampshire facility. The product is intended for prescription use in anxiety disorders.
Celadon Pharmaceuticals has received regulatory approval for its anxiety-indication CBD formulation, becoming the first company to achieve full MHRA licensing for a UK-manufactured cannabis medicine. The company cultivates pharmaceutical-grade cannabis at a GMP-certified facility in Hampshire and has applied for NHS reimbursement in parallel with the commercial launch.
