Medical Cannabis Costs Fall 20% in Two Years as Market Matures
Average monthly medicine costs for UK medical cannabis patients have fallen by approximately 20% over the past two years as competition between clinics and suppliers increases. LeafMe data shows significant price variation still exists, with patients able to save £40-60 per month by comparing prices.
Increasing competition in the UK medical cannabis sector is translating into meaningful cost reductions for patients. Analysis of pricing data from LeafMe and the Cannabis Industry Council shows that average monthly medicine costs have declined from approximately £250 in 2022 to around £200 in 2024, with further reductions expected as more generic products enter the market.
